On New Year’s Eve between 2023 and 2024, Mechelen held a celebration in their market square.

In this show, we highlight several iconic elements of the city of Mechelen. You could see the iconic building of Technopolis and a panda with Chrismas hat representing Planckendael.

Mechelen is also the first city with a rail connection in Belgium, so we transformed an old steam engine into a new train speeding by. This represents the ongoing creation of the new station.

We also incorporated “de Maneblussers”, a nickname embraced by the citizens, by showing the moon being extinguished.

On the tones of celebration, a New Year’s Eve to never forget.

Unfortunately, this show is a render of the real show because, on New Year’s Eve, the wind was exceptionally strong. Our drones have a very wide operation range, but all fireworks in the neighborhood, as well as the drone show were canceled. We are working with the city to find a new opportunity for this show.
